Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a PDF to Markdown?
Use the Chrome extension (upload a file, paste a URL, or click Convert on an open PDF), the web app, the REST API, or the hosted MCP endpoint. All four share one conversion engine and your account.
What files and sizes are supported?
PDF input only. The maximum file size depends on your plan – 10 MB on Free, up to 100 MB on Business (see the pricing page).
How long are my files and results kept?
Files and converted results are stored only long enough to finish the conversion and let you download them, then deleted automatically after your tier's retention window (about 1 hour on Free, longer on paid tiers). You can also delete any job manually at any time.
Is my data private? Do you train models on it?
No. We do not use your documents for advertising or to train models, and we do not sell your data. Files auto-delete after the retention window. See our Privacy Policy for details.
A scanned PDF converted poorly. What can I do?
Enable OCR in settings for scanned or image-only PDFs so text is recognized. You can also try the alternate conversion engine. Conversion is automated and may contain errors, so review results before relying on them.
Why was a long document only partially converted?
Each tier has a time budget. For long documents we convert up to that budget and return what we managed, flagged as a partial result, instead of failing. Higher tiers have longer time budgets.
How do I get API keys or use the hosted MCP?
Sign in with a free Google account, open the extension Settings (or the web app account panel) and create an API key. The hosted MCP endpoint uses the same account. See the Developers page for details.
How do I upgrade, cancel or change my plan?
Manage your subscription from the billing portal. Cancelling keeps paid access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Card details are handled by our billing provider and are not stored on our servers.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If you were charged unexpectedly, hit a billing problem, or are not happy with a paid plan, use Contact Support above and we will sort it out quickly, including a refund where appropriate. You do not need to open a payment dispute – reaching out is faster and we are glad to help.
